When asked by the powers that be to provide a statement by famous artist that support the global role of art in protest & free speech, this was my only “statement” I gave instead of getting Damien Hirst or anyone famous cos I could not be bothered with that! 🙂
I hope this is okay for me to speak on behalf of the many artists around the world:
“Artists make art. We don’t make statements about art. The art that we do inspires millions and billions to continue to voice their ideals in a way that better serves humanity. This is intrinsically what every artist on earth has committed to do. Some of us may become famous. Some of us may be anonymous artists who make graffiti arts around the world, but by the very nature of us being artists, we have committed to “furthering the human race” with the best of what our abilities/skills can provide. At other times we may be professors, teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, fruiterers, waitors, sports stars, rock stars, bureacrats, singers, mechanics, cleaners, accountants, consultants, housewives, retired, students, political prisoners, nobel prize winners, dishwashers, gypsies, cooks, cleaners, lifeguards etc…, but first and foremost once we are committed to our art…as means for human expression of love, hate, rebellion, dissent, peace, war, jealousy, sexuality, passion, tension, anxiety etc…..we become the very artists we were born to be because we were born with “The eye for aesthetic” and “The Passion for truth”.” Cecilia.W.Yu
After that please tell them, the Director of iProtest, Cecilia.W.Yu & Frankie Stein would like to request that those concerned about “credentials in the art world” to come to grips with the fundamental ideas of what makes a person an “artists” by reading this article: (artlyst article)
posted in the UK’s currently most visited Artists website (overtaking Saatchi Online since March 2011).
*** Why? Because there has never been an art movement on this planet in any part of the world where it is led by a “famous” known name…it has always been those who “Just got the art done.”
Afterwards…they may become Camile Claudelle, Freida Kahlo, Goya, Picassco, Renoir, Cezar Manrique, Caravaggio, MichelAngelo, etc….but right now, the things this planet need are all the “unknowns” that speak the truth for others around the planet in each their own local communities in every place around the world, talking to one another in a visual language that is timeless, wordless, ageless, raceless….just straight to the hearts & minds of our human mass unconscious!

This article gives a clear idea for the new artist, that is genuinely how to do blogging andd site-building to keep it real. No we won’t all be famous but we might just be good for the world.

Yes, you are right. I pity anyone who decides jockeying for position in the media is more important than the quality of art they produce. That is NOT an artist, that is a charlatan who cuts out and plagiarises other people’s stencils….and let’s face it….we know exactly why people like that walk around with a hollow gaping hole inside like a hungry ghosts that no amount of stealing from ideas can fix….poor Bank and Banksy…hungry ghosts of the art world…pretending to be something they are not really born with paying for PR to spin while genuine artists in every generation do not invite the media in…but end up batting them off with a stick. XXOO I wish you not fame as an artist but Authenticity for from this point of view of authenticity ALL happiness as an artist arise! Big hug. C

I would personally favor Google now that you are doing something in their building in London! Well done all of you! Both FB and Google would benefit from more culture! We Artists would in all probability benefit more from Google taking it over. In the case of Google+ it is just a matter of time. Google+ is excellent compared to Facebook, but it really has a bigger challenge to receive popularity because it is still in development. Just have a look at VHS and Betamax. Betamax was better but lost due to bad marketing/licensing.
But Google may yet win if they support more artists like you! Well done Team Robbo and Yu!
