Nobel Prize Teachers Summit 2026 Stockholm Sweden

In a few days, I will be attending the #NobelPrizeTeachers Summit in #Stockholm and meet with teaching colleagues worldwide. I received this message yesterday with details of this year’s theme. I thought I would share with everyone as this is a theme close to my heart and one of the keys of my Academic Research & Teaching DNA. 😎 #Sustainability #Sustainable Economy and Social Development #UNSDG #SDG3 #SD5 & #SDG17

The Nobel laureate featured is Professor Morten Meldal. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2022 was awarded jointly to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry”

Theme (quote):

Viruses know no borders, inequalities persist despite available solutions, and the neglect of one child’s education may reverberate across the world. Why do millions still die from malaria when there are ways of preventing it? Why are lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic so quickly forgotten?

This conference invites you as a teacher or educator to explore health from multiple perspectives – scientific, social, and educational. Together, we will confront urgent questions concerning access, equity, and shared responsibility. We also ask how education may serve as a bridge: between science and society, between individual lives and collective futures, between the local classroom and the global village.

Global health is everyone’s business. The choices we make in education and policy today will determine the well-being of generations tomorrow. Today, more than ever, health is not a private matter or a local issue – it is a global concern.

Tired after flights, I arrived late in Stockholm but I loved sleeping on the boat with the best Thai delivery in town. 🤣 Clouds and Sunset. #NobelPrizeTeacher Summit #Sweden

Inside #NobelPrize Teacher Summit 2026: Excellent talk by Morten Meldal and a very good recipe for how to be a GOOD (non Toxic 🤣) Principle Investigator (PI) that echoes EVERYTHING I was ever taught by my mentors in Economics, Science, Motion Picture Film, Art etc. but also #Sustainability and #UNSDG Sustainable Development Goals #SDG3 (which is a major theme of this years summit)!

I had a “muppet” who said to me once: “Do EXACTLY as I say or you will not get very far!”

I dumped the program and have not looked back since!

So I am very happy to see that Nobel Mindset….well…according to Nobel Economics Laureate from last year, affirmed by Nobel Chemistry Laureate today:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”Innovation is an Act of Rebellion. “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

adding….also…

“An Act of Disruption. YOU want people who disrupt. You want children who will not accept conventional accepted way of doing things….if you instill a Rebel spirit with curiosity about knowledge, even if you have VERY BAD Grades, you have a Top Notch Researcher on your hand! Why? Because curious and rebellous minds get distracted by lots of worldly things and they do not like to stick with one narrow thing at all times….”

😇BRAVO! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ That is why I would rather all my MiniMes (Mentees) REBEL, Challenge, Learn and stay flexible than to rote learn silly compartmental box ticking in what I consider Performative Academic Reviewers Dogma and Fascism hindering all Thinkers and only enriching the paychecks of mediocre Gate Keepers. 🤣

It is what it is…there is not much middleway to this….. BE Anarchic! Be a Rebel in a world of conformists!

Nothing was ever achieved by just accepting whatever anyone tells you to do and just doing it…..

Be a Rebel. Don’t be an indentured “Just a Job” Slavers, corrupting young & good minds, for the Democratic values of the Free world and the Sustainability of our Planet. 😎💚😇

I really enjoyed listening to Morten Meldal’s talk about Chemistry BUT I love 💚💚💚💚💚my usual activities of scootering around Stockholm in the Sunshine!😇💚💚💚💚💚

Then MORE Thai food….a stir fry today, very authentic….I do know! Lol. REALLY! 😎 I think Sweden should advertise the quality of its Thai cuisine as a National Tourism Feature! We know you can’t count IKEA Meatballs that the world thinks is “real” Swedish food….lol.

Officially Message from the Nobel Prize Museum:

Health – A Global Concern 🌍

THANK YOU to the 380 incredible teachers who joined us at the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit in Stockholm! ✨

Your energy and commitment to shaping the future, made this gathering a trouly valuable experience for us all.

The day was filled with different perspectives on Global Health and our shared responsibilities. Nobel Prize laureates, scientists, psychologists, more experts and educators, shared their insights, challenging us to think deeper about the world we are creating together.

The day was warmly guided by Carin Klaesson @Isak peterson Anna Ålander and Gustav Källstrand from the Nobel Prize Museum

During the summit, the importance of knowledge as a driving force—combined with curiosity and the will to create change—was emphasized from many perspectives.

Nobel Prize laureate Morten Meldal highlighted the value of a rebellious mindset as part of questioning things and becoming a scientist who contribute to the advancement of humanity. As well as sparking students’ curiosity for chemistry through 3D, smell, and explosions! The day concluded with Dr. Shepherd Urenje’s empowering words, urging teachers to be disruptive innovators and to embrace doing things “business as unusual.”

Thank you to all the speakers at the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit, who enlightened us about the significant progress that has been made in global health over time, and what is needed to continue moving in a positive direction.
