..in search of Ai visual magic… haven’t found it yet!

Updates: 3 March 2024.… so after a whole lot of stuff happened, I am still stuck inside “Hotel California” with daily aqua therapy! So I continued the experiment:

Weekend #ai art experimental injoke continues…I am still trying to get the ai to do what I want…this is what it did…..Best shots! You gotta laugh! But it has read my CeciliaYu.com and decided a summary of my blog looks like THIS!!!! hahaha!!!
Again..seriously people…can we BE more into stereotypes?

And the search for an image of me under water researching continues….this one may be interesting but it is nowhere near what I wanted from the #ai. So I noo…the search continues… (see above!)

So Hi All, this is a fun one because as you all know I had a RSI shoulder muscle injury the last few months after the Nobel Prize Teachers Summit in Stockholm! I went out with a very old friend from our UG days….Lunytic….on his sailboat. He is 2m tall and decided we could just break into his own Yatcht “for old times sake” (don’t ask!)….

Then we drank a Magnum of his overpriced champers and some of his stashes of delicious even more overpriced red wine! We had a lot of fun!

I was fine until my horribly blinkered, EDI abusing, narrow-minded judgemental yet provincially uninformed University started to bother and harrass me because their provincialism earned them the nickname “Rapechat Uni” in the BBC, Channel 4 and all over the International Media, scandal upon scandal; it just never ends….does it?

It was Super stressful …and it exacerbated my pre condition for muscular injury! Instead of leaving me alone, Rapechat Uni decided to double down with the harasssment like they did to that poor Egyptian girl with cancer….

So I ended up with a stress induced RSI muscle injury!

Anyway, this meant I couldn’t paint until the physio, biomechanics and doctor told me I am all clear to do my Art again (insurance and all that for being a professional artist who can do Olympic Art events and other major international Art gig, doesn’t come cheap…..but Im worth it! 🤣)

So I had the perfect opportunity to look at some overhyped #Ai tech. I can’t tell you what I used but I can show the results from.the last few weeks…..

Lol. You can see why Im not feeling stressed by #ai art….

So….let me talk you through the steps I took!

Step 1:  I wanted to get a Picture of me doing research under water!

This is the best pic. with a generic prompt!

I told stupid #ai to do a photo of me under water researching….it said it wont then drew a generic “Hong Kong featured Cecilia” ….I lost interest when I realised it was all cartoonish. Zzz Hmm. they are not really going to put any REAL Artist out of business.Don’t worry about it. zzz. It didn’t even randomise the fishes! 🤣

Step 2: I continue to search for an #ai that will generate me underwater doing research….lol. What do you think? hmm. Nothing to write home about… I have done some scuba diving in real life but reality is with Asthma they won’t let me go below 15m (extra insurance needed for Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia, compulsory by law!)…..thus it got a bit boring….🤣🤣

This was the result…okay the forehead almost looked like me!!!

But it is…..truly ….MEH! Isn’t it….and Fishes still not randomised!

Step 3: I went for a fancier ai with lots of complex Movie command prompts! I even decided to “help” the #Ai like I would deal with CGI movie magic by giving it a basic composition structure….but it can’t do underwater research so it gradually turned me into a Mermaid instead….slight gender bias there or what? Would it turn me into a merman if I was Male? lol. Anyway….You can see why as a professional fine artist, I am  not scared of ai…They still can’t randomise the fishes as an artist would…藍 even when I asked it to Add it EXACTLY to my detailed command prompt!

Okay I did my best with the 8K mobile camera….

This is what the Ai did…..you tell me if this is not just “pretty but generic” ???

oh I think as mermaid goes, this is the Best one BUT it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, is it? I wanted to be a Researcher/Marine Biology type UNDER water, Not a Disney Princess with a fish tail!!!!

So ….this is as far as I got, then I lost interest BECAUSE…..

Final Step: When I tried to use a SUPER computer ai to do it….the results were so Crap….I don’t know what to say??? I didn’t give it any photos, just textual command prompt….

From plausible to utterly STOOPID!

Not unlike the Modus operandi of Toxic Academia…….

So Mr Spielberg…..I am ready for my Close Ups now…..BUT Please get a REAL human to do it, then you can CGI and Quantum Ai it all you like…..BUT Please….
